Tech giants form a new alliance to push Matter's new standard for smart home connectivity

A new alliance formed by large technology companies such as Apple, Amazon, and Google has just announced a connection standard called "Matter", which aims to improve the security and interoperability of smart home devices. MacRumors pointed out that Matter was originally called "Project CHIP", which is an IP-based dedicated protocol for building and connecting IoT ecosystems. Thanks to the royalty-free policy, it can encourage various IoT device manufacturers to work together safely and ensure the reliability of projects built on this standard.

For consumers who have deployed a large number of IoT devices at home, the new world led by Matter will allow them to fully enjoy the benefits of smart door locks, thermostats, smart speakers and other devices.

In addition to easily adding new devices that support the Matter mark to the home network, related companies can also rely on a unified network to keep the company's business running smoothly.

It is worth mentioning that Matter can also ensure that smart home devices are compatible with smart home/voice services such as Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, Google Assistant, and Samsung SmartThings.

The first implementation of the Matter specification has been able to run on existing network technologies (such as Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Thread, and Bluetooth Low Energy).
