German telecom combined with millet, etc., for the first time, 5G Vonr calls

Recently, German telecommunications company announced that multiple partners such as Xiaomi have successfully achieved 5G Vonr calls, which is the world's first 5G Vonr call in the end of the vendor environment in the world. It is worth mentioning that Xiaomi is the only Chinese brand in this list.

It is understood that this test uses Samsung S21 5G and Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G, and a variety of mobile devices of Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, 780G platform, Xiaomi is the only Chinese mobile phone manufacturer involved in the test.

Compared with 4G Volte, 5G Vonr has a higher call quality, lower delay, keeping 5G data online when enjoying HD calls, can further enhance the user's experience.

This technology does not need to use 4G and other networks to perform voice calls, directly using the 5G SA network for Vonr protocol calls. Vonr in 5G SA mode is based on pure 5G access, voice service and data services are carried by 5G network, not dependent on 4G, and is a 5G mature development period target speech solution.

What is worth paying attention is that China Mobile pointed out in the white paper in March this year, from October 1, 2021, China Mobile Purchasing New 5G terminal must support VoNR.

Nokia has launched a 5G-enabled indoor small cell

C114 News on the afternoon of May 7th, Beijing time (Jiang Junmu) Nokia has launched a 5G-enabled indoor small cell, hoping to benefit from the interest of operators and enterprises in private networks.

This Femtocell now supports LTE and will support 5G Non-Independent Networking (NSA) and 5G Independent Networking (SA) standards through software upgrades, the supplier said. This small cell, named "Smart Node", will be available in the fourth quarter of 2021, mainly for small and medium enterprises and residential customers.

Nokia is promoting the solution to corporate and carrier customers. For corporate customers, it promotes femtocells as part of a mobile network that provides "anti-hacking" security without the need for IT managers to understand and install complex security solutions. Security solutions for smart nodes include digital certificates, IPSec with IKEv2 encryption, firewalls, and tampering alarms.

For network operators, 5G femtocells can provide local drainage and reduce operating costs. Outdoor small cells near companies will require power, backhaul, and real estate, while indoor solutions allow companies to bear these costs. Of course, the downside is that indoor solutions usually only support one corporate customer, while outdoor small cells Can support multiple.
